PUBG Has Surpassed 70 Million Copies Sold

Following its early access release in 2017, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds ( PUBG ) has now surpassed an impressive 70 million copies sold between PC and consoles. The game began on PC and spread to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Google Stadia. The battle royale game is also available through Stadia’s Pro subscription service and Xbox Game Pass.

This is a huge milestone. For context, one of the bestselling games of all time, Wii Sports that came bundled with Wii, sits comfortably at around 82 million units sold, so PUBG making it to 70 million is worth noting. Congratulations to PUBG Corp for the success.

Here’s Why Red Dead Online Players Are Dressing Up as Clowns

To show their disappointment with Rockstar’s apparently lackluster support for Red Dead Online , players have begun dressing up as clowns in mass quantities. As organized by the RDO Discord channel, players can be seen making fun of the game’s developers.

One mod on the Discord channel said, “Since we’re all clowns for believing we’ll get an update, it’s fitting that we dress up as them in-game too.” The game hasn’t seen a major update since last December, so the fans’ frustration is somewhat justified. It’s unknown what Rockstar plans to do with RDO next.

Ghost of Tsushima’s Review Scores Are Live and Positive

Ghost of Tsushima , Sony’s last major first-party game for PlayStation 4, is a great swansong for the system, judging by today’s review scores. The game’s review embargo lifted today, meaning critics could finally share their finalized scores, and for the most part, it’s performing well, with certain outlets awarding it high scores of 8s and 9s.

Many reviewers praised the game’s visuals, open world, photo mode, and combat, but some criticism was garnered due to repetition in its boss battles. Ghost of Tsushima hits PS4 this Friday, July 17.

Deadly Premonition 2 Will Be Updated After Poor Depiction of Transgender Character

The Switch exclusive Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will be getting an update, as announced by the game’s writer and director Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro. The update will address the depiction of a transgender character in the game, who — in their current form — is often referred to with the wrong pronouns and are called by their “abandoned birth name,” as USgamer points out.

Swery issued a statement on Twitter, apologizing for the way the character was depicted and explains that at least one scene regarding the character will be rewritten and updated at some point in the future.

I must admit I’ve been surprised to see this franchise still has plenty life left in it, I never thought it was dead or anything just didn’t expect it to do well outside of the ardcore. A lot of pressure for Infinite to capitalise on this
